What to expect with a carpet installation

What to expect with a carpet installation

With preparation done thoroughly and carefully, the day will go quick and smooth. There could be noise, dust, and odors, but that's something we’ll cover when you come into our carpet store in Idaho Falls, ID.

Technique in carpet installation

A carpet installation is usually done with the stretch technique. Tack strips, small wooden frames with nails, are placed around the room. Padding is placed in the middle, and the carpet is stretched over with a power stretcher and then secured with the strips. After the job is completed, the installers will clean up the area and dispose of waste.

Preparation is key

The first thing we will do is go through the estimate and warranty because it's vital to know installation requirements. When you rely on our professional flooring installers, you can be sure that your products are installed to all warranty requirements. Often homeowners who attempt projects like these themselves find they lost protections because an installation requirement wasn't followed.

Then, we can answer all of your questions:  Will there be noise, dust, and odors?  Should you cover adjacent areas? When can I move furniture back in, and when can I walk on it? How long will it take? All of these will be answered and more!

Finally, if you're planning to paint, ask us if it would be better to do it before or after. We can point you in the right direction, and tell you exactly how to protect the rug.
